Buying Firebird Commander 2 RTF Electric

I just bought a Firebird Commander 2 today from my local hobby shop, based on recommendations here on Amazon. Now, let me first explain that I'm a beginner RC pilot, which is part of the reason I bought this plane. Initially, I had trouble getting it into the air, but after a crash or two, I was able to get it going.

Even though this has Anti-Crash Technology (ACT), it didn't prevent me from totalling the plane about 10 minutes after the first flight. Now, you can attribute this to my lack of R/C flying skills (although I am a real pilot, I realize this skill doesn't necessarily translated to R/C), but I think the big problem is not having a seperate elevator control. As it comes, it has one channel dedicated to the throttle and one channel dedicated to the aileron (tail) control for turning. This should be ideal for beginners (one less thing to worry about), but the problem is that if you are in a steep dive (because of wind, a steep turn, or whatever), your only hope to recover is to hit the throttle and hope that the speed will bring it out of the dive before it impacts the ground.

Based on this experience, my next plane will either be a 3-channel that has throttle, elevator and aileron, or a 2-channel that has elevator and aileron. I don't really care about the speed as long as it's fast enough to get airborne.

So, not so much a negative review for the plane, as to clearly lay out for people who are thinking about buying this plane: There is no elevator control! Once airborne, all altitude changes must be done with the throttle.

Girl Tech Stylin Studio Top Quality

As many others have noted here, you can be in for a long day trying to get this thing set up. I consider myself fairly adept with computers, and it took me close to an hour to troubleshoot getting the camera to embed the image on the screen. I can only imagine someone not very technical trying to get this set up---so beware of that.

To that end, once I did get it set up and working, my daughter (7) had a blast playing it. She spent the next three hours playing with it, and continues to play with it off and on (after a week of having it). I'm sure she will soon become bored with it (as you can do only so much), but it's fun when she has friends over so they can do their "make-over".

Air Hogs Switchblade - Red and Grey 27.195 Mhz Order Now

We the first switchblade that I was sent would fly straight into the ground. By this I mean if you let it fly out of your hand with 4 ft it would on the ground. Fully charge it just flies into the ground faster. So I contacted Air Hog and they sent me a phone number to call. I called and spoke to an individual that not only knew NOTHING about this item but would disappear for a minute at a time, come back and ask the same questions and then proceed to tell me that it just took time to get used to flying it. When I explained that there was no way to practice flying it because it wouldn't stay airborne for more than a second he told me I must have over-charged the batteries !?!?!?!?! After about 20 minutes of the same questions I realized that this customer service clown wasn't going to do anything for me or fix the problem.
So I sent the unit back and got a replacement. This one makes it about fifteen feet before diving into the ground. I might try to tweak it and make it work but all in all I will NEVER be purchasing another item from Air Hog! I did give it three stars for durability because when I used the helicopter feature to take it up to 30 feet and proceed to have it scream into the ground it didn't break.

For those of you that are going to comment to the effect that it's user error and this is a great product please don't waste your time. I've flown/have numerous remote control aircraft and I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone. Then you go inside and create the rooms by putting shapes together again. While you are making the items for inside the house it says the shape of each block.
