The Zhu Zhu Pets may not be educational, but my daughter really loves these and they are really fun. They are much better on hardwood than on carpet. Try not to let them get hair or fibers in those spinning wheels. These are really cute and I don't know one kid that doesn't like them. My daughter's friends and cousins are all very absorbed in them when they play with them.
Also, since I couldn't find this information prior to buying one, I thought I'd share this: you CAN change the batteries.
