I purchased this for my 6 old niece. Her birthday is on the 17th of March, but it was given to her on the 14th. Well, she likes it a lot !! I based my decision to get her a Tamagotchi from my own experience in having one back in the late '90s. I remember me and my friend playing it in church (I regret it but I was just a kid). Tamagotchi's just one of those neat inventions you need to share regardless of how old you are (I'm 23). It can be up there in the list with Pokemon, another great invention in my opinion.
I may get her another one or two perhaps, or even more, depending on how things go. I wish it was in color though. I know in Japan (I have another niece there) they have a colored Tamagotchi.
